Muscat de Hambourg

This is a very much liked varietal because of its pronounced « Muscat » taste.

Bud break: Early to average, 2 to 4 days after Chasselas

Sensitivity to fungi and diseases: not very sensitive to botrytis, but sensitive to powdery mildew, to phomopsis, to downy mildew and to acarids and grape berries moth. Sensitive to Botrytis.

Characteristics: good vigor.

Production: Good

Aptitudes: stores well. A little bit delicate for transportation.

Cluster: big and loose.

Berries: Average to big, elliptic. Skin fairly thick. Juicy flesh with pronounced Muscat taste.

Ripeness: Average, 14 to 20 days after Chasselas
