Diseases: Sensitive to powdery mildew. Fairly good resistance to
botrytis.
Characteristics: Long pruning. The buds of the basis being of low
fertility. Trellising is indispensable. Vigorous variety.
Production: The wine is hightly colored, very tannic. It has a
characteristic "violet" bouquet. Astringent when young. Acquires
finesse with aging.
Maturity: Late midseason. Two or three weeks after Chasselas. |
